Kadavu is the largest island in Fiji's 'Southern Island Group' and the fourth largest in Fiji. The western (lee) side has some excellent long stretches of beach fringed with coconut palms, but they are by no means the only beaches to be found! Check out the photo views and see the descriptions below. Kayaking is a good option .... you get to explore a great number of deserted beaches. There are a few dive resorts on the main Kadavu Island and one on Ono. The famous Astrolabe reef is a popular dive spot. There are a wealth of small deserted islands with white sand beaches up around Dravuni - mostly accessible to yachts.
Daku Beach - This beautiful beach is one of several lovely sandy beaches very close to Nagigia Island.
Western coastline - The beaches along this coastline of Kadavu are among the longest and most beautiful in Fiji. Many deserted stretches of deserted shoreline - exploring by kayak is a great option, and there are a some resorts to choose from also. The airstrip on Kadavu is at Vunisea. North of Vunisea's jetty there is a good beach and another at Udulevu, just around the western corner of Vunisea Bay.
Waisalima - Waisalima Beach is one kilometer of white sandy beach. It is the location of Waisalima Beach Resort, with authentic Fijian bures hidden amongst the coconut trees. Each Deluxe Bure has absolute beachfront with the sparkling blue South Pacific only a few meters away from your thatched doorway.
Across from Waisalima Beach Resort on the island of Ono, is Jona's Paradise Resort. The family who run this budget resort describe the location as having "a white sand beach with plenty of water to snorkel and beach scuba dive even at low tide, with no mud flats or dangerous currents ... ideal for learning to scuba dive or safe swimming for the kids".
